Film Pitch

Questions:

What are your unique selling points for this film?

I have taken an unconventional approach with some aspects of the film; the main choices regarding location and character choice. Normally, films within the 'noir' genre are often set in America at some point in the past as characters usually have a trans-Atlantic accent however I have chosen to set the film in England to create a small change to the genre. I have also gotten rid of the conventional 'femme fatale' side character and replaced it with a 'regular' male character who doesn't become romantically involved with the protagonist.

What is your target audience?

Ideally, the target audience for 'Partner in crime' would be fans of classic films within the 'noir' genre as well as young adults who want to watch something 'different'.

What are the limitations and how will you overcome them?

The main limitations would probably be finding a suitable location and obtaining specific props e.g. pieces of evidence that can be used in the filming process. To overcome these issues, I will have to thoroughly research different location options that will fit my budget and be suitable for the narrative and will also either have to make my own props or borrow/rent them.

I have completed this pre-production activity to practice and prepare for when I have to propose a pitch for potential investors. By creating a draft pitch, I now understand how necessary it is to have a fully developed film idea (especially regarding plot and unique selling points). I have created this pitch on word as it fitted the format I wanted in a better way than PowerPoint, for example. This will hopefully allow me to achieve a fully developed pitch when I put forward my ideas to investors as I now understand the required components to feature and include in a successful pitch.
